Cosmetic surgery abounds in the U.S. as seen everywhere from print and electronic media. One would think that this is an almost exclusive American phenomenon that is less popular anywhere else in the world but that impression would be wrong. While the U.S. has the greatest number of procedures performed of any country in the world, when adjusted for population the U.S. isn’t even in the top three. According to statistics published by the International Society of Plastic Surgery, the top spot is owned by South Korea. Greece, Italy, Brazil and Columbia exceed the U.S. in percent of population who has had some form of plastic surgery. Of the 25 countries for which data was reported, who was the last on the list?….Russia, China and India.
