Facelifts are historically thought of being needed by the time one is in their late 50s or early 60s. While the changes seen at this age were impressive, they were also dramatic and easily seen. But societal standards have changed and the importance of stemming the facial aging process earlier so one continues to look fresh as they get older has led to new approaches to facelifts. Facelift procedures today have been ‘downsized’ to accommodate younger patients who just need a nip and tuck for early onset changes. With the average age that a patient seeks a facelift today in the mid- to late 40s, many touted smaller versions of facelifts now exist. The key to a facelift at any age is to make sure the solution matches the magnitude of the problem.
