Website for Sponsoring Breast Implant Surgery
Just when I thought I had seen most everything in plastic surgery…..something stranger and more incredulous appears.
With the ever increasing number of women undergoing breast augmentation, over 350,000 last year in the United States, the issue of affordability is a not uncommon problem with this procedure. Due to the young age of many women desiring breast implants, the one cosmetic procedure that attracts the largest number of young patients, many of these patients require financing to have the operation. Many more never have the operation even though they may desire it greatly. Addressing this ‘plight’ is now a website for such financially-challenged prospective breast implant patients. Myfreeimplants.com is a website where women post themselves and accept bids from viewers to sponsor the surgery. Women post photos of themselves and engage in communications with sponsors (presumably male) who make contributions to their surgery.
Whatever happened to simple financing from credit companies such as Care Credit or Capitol One? This site has been around since 2004 and appears to have taken the eBay concept to a very niche market.
