You may think that the rise in plastic surgery procedures being done comes all from new patients. And while more people are having plastic surgery than ever before, a fair portion of these procedures are actually being done on prior patients. Most plastic surgery practices will tell you that one-third or more of cosmetic procedures they do are on existing patients. This is a result of a phenomenon known as ‘accomplishment feedback’. Once one has gotten over their nervousness from a first procedure and had a good result with an enhanced appearance, they are more inclined to have additional procedures later.
